Couple bombarded with abuse over crowdfunding attempt to raise £6k for dream wedding

Couple bombarded with abuse over crowdfunding attempt to raise £6k for dream wedding

A couple who tried to crowdfund their dream wedding ended up taking down the page after they were bombarded with abuse.
Jack Dudley and Hannah Louise Miell cheekily asked the public to donate money so they could raise £6,000 to pay for a wedding in Ravello, Italy.
But they were hit with a torrent of abuse and were forced to take down the GoFundMe page – having raised just £55.
One person wrote on the page: “Save up like normal people. This is absolutely disgusting, millions of people out there with nothing.”
Hannah, who works for an animal charity, explained on the page how tough it was when Jack was away at sea as a Royal Navy submarine chef.
She wrote of her “intense admiration” for her “incredibly selfless” partner after he volunteered to serve in Afghanistan in 2012.
He helped her get through depression to become medication free, according to the page

The couple, from Tiverton, Devon, wrote: “We don’t have the money to be able to afford such a wedding which is where we need your help.
“Please give what you can, your support means the world to us and will make a huge difference.
“We hope we can achieve our dreams and share a once in a lifetime experience with our family.”
