GENE Simmons’ home has been raided by police searching for evidence of child pornography — although authorities say the performer and his family are not suspects.
The LAPD Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served the search warrant and raided the Kiss bassist’s Los Angeles home on Thursday morning.
“No members of the Simmons family are suspects in the case and were extremely cooperative,” Lt. John Jenal of the Los Angeles Police Department said.
TMZ reports police seized computers and other evidence from the 65-year-old rocker’s property.
The website claims law enforcement sources say child porn had been downloaded on either the seized computer or via the home’s internet access.
TMZ reports Simmons was away on tour when the downloads occurred.
The rocker’s wife, Shannon Tweed Simmons, thanked fans for their support on Twitter.
“Thanks for your support. We couldn't be more horrified that someone used our residence for such heinous crimes. Law enforcement is on it,” she wrote.
“Goodnight and don't forget to change your passwords!!” she posted later.
