Most of the vegetable farms in Cameron Highlands use conventional farming with open terraces. If I am not mistaken, this vegetable farm we had visited is located in Tringkap which is further up Brinchang if one comes from Tanah Rata. What really caught my eyes here were rows and rows of cabbage plants, broccoli plants and cauliflower plants. I do know what cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower are, but I had never seen their plants before! I bet you the same if you have not been to any of the vegetable farms in Cameron Highlands before! Anyway, I hope you can tell the difference between a broccoli and a cauliflower, can’t you?

Our next stop is a watercress farm. Watercress or more commonly known as “Sai Yong Choy” in the Cantonese language is widely grown up here in Cameron Highlands. It is a must order dish when one walks into any restaurant up here. It can come in soup or just a simple vegetable dish. Jam ate plenty of watercress during the steamboat dinner that evening! You know what; watercress has great health benefits as it contains significant amounts of iron, calcium, iodine and folic acid, in addition to Vitamins A and C. And you can hardly find fresh watercress outside of Cameron Highlands! So, do order watercress dish for every meal in Cameron Highlands, haha!
