Woman gives birth in less than a minute

Even if you haven’t actually been through it yourself, you probably know that giving birth isn't supposed to be easy. That's why we were so flabbergasted by this woman’s account of how she brought a tiny human into the world in just—wait for it—60 seconds. And without any medical assistance. Say what? According to a report from the U.K.'s Daily Mirror, Jessica Stubbins rushed to the hospital after realizing she was in labor and dashed out of the car while her husband parked. But the baby came so quickly that she didn't have time to make it inside—or even sit down. Security footage captured Stubbins giving birth to her second daughter while standing in the entrance of the hospital, and we have to say, the birth looks insanely effortless. But just how abornmal is it to pop out a baby that fast? Dr. Lauren Streicher, an associate clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, says this situation actually isn’t all that crazy.

“This is not something that is surprising to any obstetrician," she said. "Although it’s not super-common, there really are patients that have these extremely fast, painless labors. Sometimes the cervix will open and it simply doesn’t hurt. The uterus might not actually be contracting, and then all of a sudden you feel this extraordinary pressure, and then the baby comes out.”
But don't expect this type of easy, breezy delivery for your firstborn—it tends to be more common among women who've given birth before, she adds.

Luckily, after the surprise birth, nurses rushed to Jessica’s side and both mom and baby are totally healthy.
