An okada rider and his passenger were crushed to death along Lekki-Epe expressway after they crashed into a BRT bus as they fled from a police patrol van

An eyewitness at the scene told Pulse that the Okada rider who was fleeing with two passengers from policemen in a patrol van crashed into an oncoming BRT bus.
"While trying to escape from the police who were chasing them to seize their bike for riding on the express.
"The okada, which was in high speed, collided with a BRT bus that crushed them to death," the source said.
The policemen were allegedly trying to arrest the okada rider and seize his motorcycle because it is illegal for commercial motorcycle riders to ride on the expressway.
After the accident, the policemen abandoned their vehicle and fled into the nearby Mayfair Estate to escape lynching.
Within minutes scores of irate motorcycle operators and area boys gathered.
They burnt the abandoned patrol van and  blocked the highway for several hours in protest of their colleague's death.
In what seems like a re-enactment of last Friday's Army madness on the Ikorodu-Lagos expressway, the protesters prevented any vehicular traffic on the highway.
It tool the intervention of the Army to calm the situation
