Drake’s 5 Comebacks for Dealing with Rude People

Drake’s 5 Comebacks for Dealing with Rude People

Drake’s 5 Comebacks for Dealing with Rude People | Levo League |
        news2, music, difficult conversations, communication
Last week, rapper Meek Mill sent out a tweet accusing Drake of not writing his own raps. How did Drake respond? By dropping two scathing tracks—”Charged Up” and “Back to Back Freestyle”—very clearly calling out Meek. You don’t mess with Drizzy, folks.
The whole thing seems a little petty, if you ask me. But if nothing else, what we can take away from the Drake/Meek Mill feud is a few solid comebacks for dealing with rude people. (It’s probably best if you don’t rap at them, though.) Here, we give you the Levo spin on some of Drake’s best “Back to Back Freestyle” lyrics:
1. “I didn’t want to do this, but I think we need to talk.”
When I look back I might be mad that I gave this attention
Yeah, but it’s weighin’ heavy on my conscience
Yeah, and f***, you left The Boy no options
Maybe you tried not acknowledging the rude comments, but it didn’t seem to work. Now it might be time to address the situation. Try starting a polite, two-sided conversation—you don’t need this person’s negativity.
2. “Did I do something to upset you?”
I’m not sure what it was that really made y’all mad
But I guess this is what I gotta do to make y’all rap
Not sure what you did to deserve the rudeness? Try calling the person out. Ask them to tell you what you did wrong—maybe you can work together to make the situation better for everyone.
3. “Haters gon’ hate.”
This for y’all who think that I don’t write enough
They just mad ‘cause I got the Midas touch
Sometimes, when someone is being rude to you, you just have to smile and brush it off. If you, like Drizzy, are confident in your abilities, the negative energy can’t touch you.

4. “What gives you the right to say that to me?”
You love her, then you gotta give the world to her
Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?
I know that you gotta be a thug for her
This ain’t what she meant when she told you to open up more
Okay, so maybe this is a more aggressive approach than we would ever advise, but you have to admit the way Drake calls out Meek Mill for riding the coattails of his girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, is kind of funny.
5. “This conversation is over.”
I don’t wanna hear about this ever again
Not even when she tell ’em that they better as friends
Not even when you sayin’, “Drizzy, tell ’em again”
It’s easy to get heated when someone is being rude to you. Avoid saying something—or sending a strongly worded email—that you’ll regret later by ending the convo here and now.
