GIANT PYTHON KILLS TWO BOYS WHILE ASLEEP

Young Connor and Noah,ages 5 and 7 were strangled  to death while asleep by a 100 pound African Rock Python which escaped from the pet store beneath the apartment where they stayed the night.
The horrifying incident occurred in Campbellton,New Brunswick,Canada,at the Reptile Ocean, a pet store owned by Jean- Claude Savoie who lives above it.The store is  home to a veritable menagerie of exotic animals, including crocodiles, tarantulas, tortoises and at numerous snakes.

As best friend to Connor and Noah’s mother, the young boys spent the night at his apartment,where they were asleep as the Python escaped it’s cage,slithered through an air vent above Savoie’s apartment and  fell through the ceiling. The snake is believed to have attacked the little boys,and crushed them to death.




Mr Savoie said that he walked into the living room at 6:30am and found the brothers dead and the snake coiled in a hole nearby.
The animal loving kids were fond of the store and hung around the animals very often,as their mother lived right behind,says Mr Savoie,who has no clue as to how the snake made it out of it’s cage and through the ventilation ducts.As he entered the room he assumed they boys were asleep,until discovering the hole in the ceiling and then,the bodies of the little boys.
The snake has been captured and handed over to the Royal Canadian Police who are examining the creature and an  autopsy will be ran on the children to confirm the exact cause of  death.
Crimes Unit is investigating the case and will determine whether any criminal charges will be filed  against the owner.

Snakes washed by flood into Kanke, Kanam and other communities in Plateau have bitten more than 50 people in the last two weeks.
The representative of the area at the House of Representatives, Timothy Golu, confirmed the development in Jos after visiting the victims.
Mr. Golu said that some had died while others in critical conditions were on admission in various hospitals and traditional snake treating homes.
He said that 13 victims were at Zamko clinic in Langtang, 20 in traditional healers’ treatment homes, seven in herbalists’ centres, while some visit the centres for daily treatment owing to lack of bed space.
“Some have even been treated and discharged, but a woman at my place, who has been treated and discharged, still has pus gushing from the bitten spot and we have advised her to return to the hospital for fresh checks.
“We fear that something worse may result from the wound if not properly treated because she is already limping,” he said.
Describing the situation as “very scary and pathetic”, Mr. Golu said that the snakes, who move openly and always in pairs, were washed into the communities by flood.
“As the flood pushed them from the over flown tributaries of Rivers Benue and Niger, some snakes climbed trees, others entered holes while some just held unto any available straw.
“All of them later descended into residences and farms where they have been wreaking havoc.”
He said that the commonest species were the black mamba, carpet viper and cobra, and declared that most victims usually depend on luck to survive.
Mr. Golu urged the Federal and Plateau Governments to treat the snake invasion as “a national medical emergency concern”, and give it the same response given to HIV/AIDS and the Ebola virus.
“Government must come in with full force and ensure that the anti-snake venom is provided to the people free of charge because it is too expensive for the rural poor.
“Other world health bodies like WHO and UNICEF should also step in because it is a serious situation that requires all hands on deck.”
The law maker also called on the federal and state governments to fumigate the homes, farmlands and the general environment of the communities to reduce the number of snakes, especially since they appeared to be reproducing.
He said that the fumigation would also reduce the number of crocodiles washed into the communities, pointing out that the weather of the area was naturally attractive to such reptiles.
Mr. Golu said that he had advised the people to use hand gloves and rain boots while on their farms to minimise the effect of the snake attacks.
“But even such precautions can only minimise the damage because some of the snakes just fly into their victims and knock them off before biting them.
“Others just splash their poisonous saliva into the faces of their victims and that is equally dangerous,” he said.
He said that the situation had led to other environmental concerns with waterborne diseases like typhoid and gastro enteritis becoming common, urging extra caution among the people.
Mr. Golu also suggested that traditional snake charmers should be supported to help the people.
“Some charmers have devices through which they attract the snakes and get them killed; such initiatives will reduce their number and need to be encouraged,” he said.
He said that the urban centres were not spared as a huge black mamba was killed in the Jos residence of a former member of the House of Representatives last week.NAN

Leader of Nigeria's high flying music crew, MAVIN's Don Jazzy is one individual who has contributed in no small measure to the growth of the music industry in Nigeria. Over a year ago, the likes of Korede Bello, Reekado Banks and Dija were greenhorns in the industry until Don Dorobucci gave them the track to run their own races. Today, they have grown to become stars in their own right, thanks to Don Jazzy's masterstroke.In this interview, head of the Supreme Mavin Dynasty reveals the reason behind the forthcoming Mavin Access Concert, possibility of working with D'banj again, why he won't release his own album anytime soon and other issues.

Why did it take you this long to put together a concert of this magnitude?
I have been planning things in my head but then, it's now that we are going live. There is no point doing something when you don't have content. I am a perfectionist, so, until I know that I have what it takes to do one, I won't do it. I would have come out to say let's organize a concert, but if you don't have correct content there is no point doing one

Will D'banj be performing at this concert?
Right now I cannot categorically tell you whether he will call me to say: "Oh you are organizing a concert too? I will come o."But right now, he is not billed to perform at the concert

Do you have plans to have international artistes at the concert?
No.

Will other artistes be performing aside from the Mavins?
It's a Mavin concert .Obviously you will see other artistes perform. I have done collaborations with a lot of people. I have done collaborations with P-square, Timaya, Olamide and many more. It's a Mavin's and friends concert but more emphasis will be placed on the Mavins.
You are known to be generous; don't you think you need to work with a foundation to make it official?
I don't trust some of these foundations. I think it's just people looking for an opportunity to collect money. I don't think I need to set up a foundation before I help people. I help people regardless of that. A lot of people have been telling me to set up a foundation. I might do that at a point to satisfy people. For now, it's not a priority.

What does it take to work with you?
It is important you have the talent and the next thing is for you to locate me. Social media is the best place to find me. Follow me and I will follow you back. I won't listen to the person's song if I think that the person looks like a trouble maker. Some people might tell you they sent you a song and you now made it your own. Another issue is creating time for it.

Your label mates have been recording songs back to back, what is responsible for that?
We always record, we never stop recording.

When are we getting an album from Reekado Banks, Dija and Korede Bello?
If you ask them now, they will tell you they don't want to. People drop albums and decline, it's not good.

What is the secret of your success?
There is no secret, I just work hard

When are you going to release your own album?
I am not going to release an album. Right now, I know that I won't be releasing an album. I might consider it, may be if am given money but right now, I don't see myself doing that.

Do you charge for collabos?
I have never charged for collabos. I am honored to actually be asked to do a collabo with an artiste. I think I have actually done collaborations with almost everyone that had asked for it

Does Don Jazzy have a girlfriend?
I don't have a girlfriend.

When last were you in a relationship?
A year ago. I am on break now when it comes to a relationship.

When do you think the time will be right to tie the knots?
I might not even announce that I will be getting married. I don't understand why you people think I will just come and announce that I will be getting married. I am not really that kind of person.

Why do you avoid the media?
It's because I don't know how to talk to you people.

Would you be collaborating with Dbanj any time soon ?
It is possible. We will do it when we both settle down and agree we want to do it. He is busy doing his own thing and I am also busy with my Korede , Reekado and Dija .We live in the same vicinity. By the time we sit down and plan it, we would create something. We would probably work again. As long as there is life, there is nothing impossible.

You interact with a lot of people on social media, how do you sieve the people you interact with?
Why should I sieve them? If they come correct, we will talk. If they don't come correct, I move on. I have met a lot of people via the social media.

Would you be signing a rapper anytime soon?
Yes, I have signed a couple of them, but you are yet to meet them.

Would you be releasing your own single anytime soon?
I am not thinking of that now. I have people that need to succeed. I am happy developing people for now till death do me part. Already, I feel that I am singing too much.

Would you be signing more artistes?
Well, it depends on the ones that I see, but I need to push my present artistes to a certain level before signing new ones. I think they are really growing very fast. If I feel that they have gotten to certain level where they can be on their own, then I can sign on new artistes.

What happened to the signature Don Jazzy stick?
It's at home. Change is constant. I hardly use it because one has to rebrand. You can't be doing the same thing over and over again. You will see it at the concert

Pro-Biafran Agitator Shot in Port Harcourt

A pro-Biafran protester was shot today by men of the Nigerian military police during a protest in Igweocha in Port Harcourt.


The protesters have been agitating for the unconditional release of Radio Biafra Director, Nnamdi Kanu

Gridlock as Biafra agitators storm Benin-Asaba-Onitsha highway

Over one thousand enthusiastic agitators for the Sovereign State of Biafra staged another walk in protest over the continued detention of the Director of Radio Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu.
This is coming barely weeks after the agitators staged a peaceful protest across ,ajar streets of Asaba, Delta State capital seeking the unconditional release of Mr. Kanu.
The agitators under the aegis of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Delta State chapter started the peaceful march at Agbor and moved to Asaba in motorcade causing traffic gridlock in the process.
The agitators adorned palm fronds on their heads while exposing their bodies as they almost stripped bare in the demand for freedom from the Nigerian government.
They described the continued detention of Mr. Kanu as uncalled for and totally unacceptable, insisting that they were no longer comfortable with the Nigerian government.
Saturday Sun gathered that at Summit Junction on the Benin-Asaba-Onitsha expressway, security operatives allegedly used tear gas to disperse the protesters and actually arrested some of them.
But a source close to the state Commissioner of the Police told our correspondent that the command was averse to detaining Biafran agitators, adding that the command was exploring the best possible ways to handle the situation.
One of the protesters who spoke with our correspondent, Victor Nwoha said the protest became necessary to secure the release of Dr. Kanu, adding that "we have suffered enough in the hands of the Nigerian government and we are no more comfortable with it.
"We want our freedom that is why we are here. We are not comfortable with the Nigerian government, the intimidation, killing and all that; that is why we want our freedom. We feel very bad about his detention and it is affecting each and every one of us. We are not comfortable, we want to go.
"The federal government should release our Director, Dr. Nnamdi Kanu and we also want our freedom. As a nation that is due for freedom, we want to go; we are tired; the suffering is too much; it is not a crime to want our freedom; we want to go."
One of the protesters, Chineye Udeoba said the detention of Kanu has brought bitterness to the people of Biafra, warning that he should be released without further delay.
"We are not Nigerians, we are Biafrans. My father is seventy-two years old and he is older than Nigeria. He is a Biafrian, I am a Biafran and we all here are Biafrans. We the indigenous people of Biafra are ready to go. We want to be on our own.
"The British came and amalgamated us with these Oduduwa and Arewa people, we are not one; we were never one, we are totally different in terms of tradition. We want to be on our own. We want our freedom," Udeoba said.
Mrs. Judith Ihebiehi told journalists that the detained Kanu was the voice of Biafra, insisting that it was wrong for the Nigerian government to detain him as he did nothing to merit the punishment.
"Have they ever asked themselves if what this man has been saying is false? Have they bothered to verify what Nnamdi Kanu has been saying? So detaining Nnamdi Kanu will bring problems.
"Our reason of coming here is to tell the people of Delta State about the suffering of our people in the hands of the federal government," she said.
The protesters were however, denied access into the Government House by security operatives who were on guard. No official of the state government addressed them
